Hey is anyone doing this music festival ict cab? I thought it was normal coursework but it says 2013 at the bottom?? If you google it it comes up with loads of people who have done it last year. My teachers say this is definitely going towards 60% of the final grade but they haven't exactly got a great track record with this stuff. In any case does anybody have a grade criteria or anything for activity 1 etc especially for a/a*??

9 years agoi didn't i just hyper-linked to them all on the first page of the app
does anybody know what to for the investigation investigation on activity one
9 years agoHmm, for Activity 1, we were asked to do a survey as part of the investigation, so I went around asking my audience (teenagers) general questions and questions relating to the festival as well, e.g. what genre of music do you like? I then made them into charts on Excel so that I could use it in another Activities as evidence for my reasoning e.g. the Recommendations is Activity 2. In the review I just described this process. Hope that helps
9 years ago Original post by Maisha BHello all,
I've finished most of the coursework but just needed a clarification for my Activity 3 App build. My teacher has said that for the teaser video, podcast and downloadable flyer, we need separate pages for each but this seemed a little silly to me. On the CAB, it just says 'a section featuring. '. So I'm not sure whether I have to make another three pages on each separate asset or just keep it the same (all on one page). Help would be much appreciated.
Trust me your teacher is right! (It is a bit silly but that's the CAB) Each of those require separate documents. For example The teaser Video should be exported into a WMV format as one Document, there should then be a separate Audio file for your Podcast and again another separate document for your Downloadable flyer in PDF format resulting in 3 different documents in your activity 3 folder for this.

Thank you very much! I've now fixed up my app with those different pages and put it all in a zip file so the flyer is downloadable. I'm all done I think. Just need to update my sources table >_< Thanks again!

Glad to be of service!
9 years agoHow important is it to have completed and finished the sources table? I think I may have accidentally forgotten to complete it and well it's been submitted now, currently it is 15 pages (half completed). Not sure what to do? Should I ask my teacher if I can edit it?

Well, as far as my teacher has told me, the sources table carries 10/22 marks for Activity 1, and is vital evidence for the other activities. I can't tell for sure, but as long as you have a wide range of sources for all activities, as well as show evidence for refining and discrimination, it should be okay. But to be on the safe side, I advise you to ask your teacher seeing as the examiner may want to see evidence of all activities throughout the sources table. I'm still not 100% sure, so I'm not sure how helpful my comments have been >_< sorry.

I have a sheet at school with a template for your CAB it's really helpful and helps you to gain really high marks. I'll pick it up for you and send you a PM screenshot for you as that should be a big help. Expect this Thursday or Friday.

Hi,
Recommended ticket price is a PowerPoint (or word document) that has a couple of basic sentences explaining about the ticket price you want to chose and why you want to choose this. As well as how many tickets you need to sell to break even or make a profit as you must at least break even. A PowerPoint is better because you can use one slide for each and put any extra information in the text box and the bottom of each slide.

9 years ago Question - can you use a template on your mobile app? 9 years ago Original post by gmahapatra Question - can you use a template on your mobile app?
Yes, it is not meant to be a fully functional working app. Just you need to show how it COULD be. With reference to things such as links, navigation bars, layout, sub pages, master pages etc.

Hello,
I would be really happy if you could help me with the evaluation, do you mind if you send me a list of all the things I have to include in my evaluation in detail. And, could you also tell me how long it needs to be minimum? Thank you so much
to the official edexcel website and scroll down to where it says: 'Controlled Assessment Record'
Then open up the unit 2 bit in either PDF or word doc format

It's best if you do this as a powerpoint or maybe even a word document. For the powerpoint you must sort of pretend to be an adviser/accountant talking to a board of directors who are about to decide on the final ticket price for your festival. Don't actually say anywhere in it that you are an adviser or mention a board of directors but write it as if. (ie. write: 'I think that the price should be this because. '
slide 1: brief description of the music festival.
slide 2: you need to have done a survey, or do one now, of your target audience on what they would pay for your music festival (in a separate document). Include the results of this survey here
slide 3: use your festival model (the excel document) (ie. screen shot it) on this slide. Write how much you would need to charge to in order to break even and write somewhere that this would be the minimum you would need to charge
slide 4 (or more slides): look at actual real life music festivals that appeal to your target audience and say how much they cost
slide 5: give a brief summary of the previous slides and then say finally how much you recommend that the music festival should cost and reasons why
TIP. Make sure that the price you say on the last slide is the price that you put on your poster, video, radio advert teaser thingy, excel document ect..
